neither it should be investigated as to who was really in the wrong and let them get on with thier lives.

I'd treat them like people who have been held captive, probably exposed to terrifying interrogation procedures, and who were essentially abandoned by their ship and their government at the time of their capture.
To an extent they are heroes. They are not gutless--they were placed in a very difficult position that very few military people can even imagine themselves being in.
I'm glad they were released.
I think the Iranian government needs to be overthrown and I hope the Iranian people, who are pretty good folks, by and large, will get on with that one of these days. If we can find a way to help them we should do it.

There should be a full investigation carried out on the situation before anyone starts throwing any judgements on the action of the British sailors.
As for that smarmy Iranian president, he shouldn't have allowed them to have shown off like prize cattle, whether they ventured into his country's waters or not. Who the hell does he think he is?! Thats why I never trust short people!

Gutless???
Why on earth would they be seen as gutless?
Can you imagine in your tiny mind what they have just been through? In that part of the world the people are very unpredictable, anything could have happened, firing squad,beheaded...when we saw the prisoners on tv they were being dignified and smiling... a very hard thing to do under the circumstances.
I cant begin to think where your coming from !

They were following their training which states that they should do what is asked of them to stay alive and well. Afterall, contrary to popular opinion, Iran is not an enemy state so therefore the behavior of captured forces should be different than in a war situation.
Those people who regard them as gutless probably have never left their own armchairs.

Just think if it was the other way round and Iranian sailors were found in British waters they would not have wanted to go back

Neither heroes or gutless. They did a job, were set up by the Iranian military, and been released. It was all a stunt to make USA and Uk think that Iran is friendly, because they are living in fear of invasion from USA and UK.

I think your question is a bit off the mark. These soldiers did the job they had to,to get out safely and were apparently well treated, while the Iranians played 'being in charge', it was just a matter of time before the Iranian's let them go anyway.

Certainly not gutless. We dont know what really happened so we cannot judge them. Let them explain what happened before critisising them. At the end of the day, they were soldiers taking orders from a higher source.

I think they should be treated as heroes as we should treat all of our military personnel who work hard, for crap money, in crap conditions to defend our country. I'd like to know what you feel they did that might make people think they were gutless? i think they were brave and diplomatic and acted exactly as they should have done in that situation.

Hero's! What fight did they show such vaunted distinction?
Gutless! What fight did they run away from?
Lets be clear they were held as hostages in a political game of BRINKMANSHIP and shouldn't be subjected to such judgements as this does nothing but inflame the situation
