Yeah... weird huh?

He said that he blames his psychosis on the few years that he believed in the lie of evolution...
He also said that he has accepted Jesus as his lord and that he would be forgiven...

His father maintains that his mother was suffering some kind of demon posession and drug use during pregnancy...

The mom actually divorced herself from the family before she died of cancer in 2000...

So why did the media lead us to believe that he came from a "normal" family and that he was just "a gay serial killer"?

He never had sex with his victims and did not totally identify as gay...

I guess what I'm saying is that this is a story of how religion can twist a persons mind and isolate them from themselves but what America saw through the eyes of the media was another reason to hate gay people...

Why would his sexuality be more of a factor than his denial of it... or denial of being abused by his father... it's so obvious the way his Dad sat in on every interview and had to be the first to write the book, blaming the mom and demons...

It's the same thing with the Ramseys... anyone in thier right mind can tell that they killed their own kid...

Why does the media have to create "another possibility" that usually implicates a gay person, an independent woman, or a racial minority?

i watched the same interviews plus, have read plenty on him don't know where you get that he never had sex with his victims. even after they were dead, he had sex with his victims. also, remember that his definition of sex included everything you and i know plus, a lot more.

however, i hadn't heard and now, really appreciate your connection of dahmer to christian science. it makes perfect sense to me. i can now easily link dahmer's success in committing his crimes and confidence to carry them off even in the face of possible and immediate capture with the teachings of christian science.

it does kind of makes sense, doesn't it? seeing himself as God in the taking of so many lives. having no remorse for the most part, he was playing the role of being his own Jesus, for sure and certainly seemed to have no fear that he could do anything wrong.

aside from his crimes, i have to say that dahmer was one of the nicest serial killers i've ever had the displeasure of reading about. in the end, i found myself with at least a measure of respect for him - from a distance of course.

he was so different than most: he copped immediately to his wrongdoings and seemed to pull no punches as to his crimes and motivations, though i am sure even he didn't have full insight or, conscienceness. he was humble about it, not arrogant as so many sociopaths and serial killers are. he seemed to want to get to the root of his problem and share what he knew of its origins with those who could perhaps help others like him. he was forthright and uncontrived.

as to the father's statements concerning the mother, even if they are true, dahmer's life once born was not unusual. many have suffered more than he and faced no such consequences so, i agree with the media's description. though not normal, many mothers have indulged in drug abuse during pregnancy and not produced the likes of dahmer.

it's true that he did not identify himself as totally gay, but simultaneously, he is not known to have ever pursued a relationship with a woman, sexual or otherwise. i believe he was only fooling himself in that regard, just as he did on so many other counts.

i still think it possible that he killed adam walsh and that that was the one type of crime that he chose to fool himself, as well as the rest of us, about.

not wanting to acknowledge his full homosexuality, not wanting to admit his preferred pedophilia. it just makes sense to me.

to me, he was a straight out diconomy. so sick yet, so normal. i think the media hit it on the head with this guy, actually.

So you'd take the word of a crazy cannibal? Really, the guy ate people and murdered over a 13 year span, but you buy the idea that evolution made him do it? Dahmer was still trying to deny being gay, even after his conviction. Given his Dad claims to be an expert on creationism ( with all that implies about the family feelings about homosexuality), I'd question using him as a source on much of anything.

His parents were divorced when he was 18, about when he started killing people, this wasn't covered up by the media, in the interest of fairness they always can find at least one neighbor that thinks the kid is normal. Maybe the fact that his Dad claims they were a normal family is the reason you have that impression.

The guy served time for masturbating in front of little boys and fondling at least one in the 1980s, but you buy the idea he wasn't gay? He went to gay bars to pick up victims, still not gay?

Dahmer fits a pattern found in some (some I'm not implying its a trait) serial killers. They're so ashamed and frightened about their own sexual orientation, that they kill to protect their secret. If ever there was an argument for letting gays come out of the closet this is it.

I love how you shove facts in front of people's faces, and they get all huffy with you. Stand up for yourself! Never back down bro. "Normal" is the worst word in our language, and although clearly defined by dictionaries, our minds truly interpret the word and fit it into our own standards. Power and love to you ~N

He HAS accepted Jesus as Lord..or HAD? Didn't the guy get beaten to death by his fellow prison inmates? Wasn't that like awhile ago?

He was clearly gay and just a sick pervert. There is no excuse to do those things lots of people have messed up families but that's no reason to go around eating people let him rot and be forgotten.
