Friday the 13th is supposed to be a very lucky day - there are fewer road accidents on this day than any other.
Friday 13th superstition was established after the King of France captured and killed all the Knights Templar on that day!

Personally no not myself as ive not experienced any misfortune on that day "touch wood".
DO YOU suffer from paraskevidekatriaphobia? This long-winded word is not a wind-up, but the psychological term for the morbid and irrational fear of Friday the 13th. This date has been regarded as the "devil's day" in Scotland and other cultures from the ancient Egyptians to Christians. But how has this happened and what are the reasons behind the day's demonic status? The day Friday and the number 13 have been associated with bad luck for thousands of years, but it is only in recent history that the two have been amalgamated.
The DAY Friday is feared for the following reasons:- As the day of Jesus's crucifixion, the great flood in which Noah prevailed, Solomon's temple fell and the day when Cain killed his brother Abel. It is also believed by some to be the day in the Bible when Eve gave Adam the forbidden apple, further demonising the feminine form.
The NUMBER 13:- The ancient Norse people believed that having 13 people at a dinner party was bad luck and this myth was enhanced by the story of Jesus's death. The Last Supper was attended by Jesus and his Twelve Disciples. It was here that Jesus prophesised one among them would betray him to his death. In Leonardo Da Vinci's famous interpretation of the event, Judas Iscariot is the 13th person present.
Number 13 has now become embedded in popular culture as a sign of bad luck. In Edinburgh, the Bonham Hotel and the Malmaison are without rooms with number 13 on the door, while Glasgow Royal Infirmary is not so suspicious, with its outpatients using ward 13. But should we take any notice of this number?
did you knows?
1. The doomed space mission Apollo 13, made into a feature film with Tom Hanks, was launched on 13 April at 13:13 local time, while a recent interpretation of the number has brought another interesting, if unsettling point.
2. Several serial killers have 13 letters in their names: Jack the Ripper, Charles Manson, Jeffrey Dahmer and Theodore (Ted) Bundy all have this honour. In a strange coincidence, so do the words Prime Minister.

13 was considered a good number, before the Christians got to it. Friday is Freya's day, and 13 is the number of months in the Lunar calendar. I never heard about the stuff about the Templars before... The way I always heard it was depending on which way you want to look at it, Jesus was number 13 at the table, or Judas was....
But if you insist, get yourself a nice rabbits foot to invoke Eostre's protection, look for a 4 leaf clover for the 4 elements, and for Pete's sake, don't walk under any ladders :)

No I am not because like the left hand (the female side) is considered sinister ,13 is considered sinister because it is female, Venus rules Friday and 13 is ruled by the Goddess, when they chased Diana out of her grove, and stopped worshiping Mother Earth and most religions started honouring only the male aspect, they destroyed the Goddess culture by making us fearful of She/Her our female aspect.
When we stopped respecting the female part of our nature we started polluting and destroying our rivers, the sea, and earth (all female). We could start honouring both and bring balance to the earth, and respect and love to all mankind. So give Friday the 13th a big girly hug and the v sign for peace to 51% of earths people and the rest. Love and light.

This superstition arose from the massacre of the Templars by the King of France and the Pope. It was a monstrous, brutal act which certainly deserves to be remembered lest the same stuff happens again.
But it's past. It has no relevance to our modern lives.
Forget it!
