I know you can say rounder but I will like to know if to say more round is also o.k.

Technically, if you wish to be so, a circle is a circle and no matter how big or small they all have the same 360 degree measurement. Therefore it is impossible for one to be "rounder" than another unless, of course, one is not a true circle (i.e. a person trying to freehand draw a "circle" verses one drawn by a compass). In which case you would sound more intelligent in both math and English if you were to say "This circle is more accurate than the other", or something similar.

This is a great question for me. I am an English major and this is the way you should write the sentence. This circle is rounder than the other. Take care.

To show that something has a greater degree of the same quality you should use the word, 'more'.

Different glasses can be full but to varying degrees. So, you would say, "This glass is more full than the others." A toy, in a state of disrepair, would be more broken than a different toy which required less repair. Therefore, you would say, "This toy is more broken than that one." You wouldn't say, "It's brokener."

So, 'more round' is more correct.

No, because the nature of a circle is absolute rather than comparative.

Perhaps the construction "This loop is closer to circular than the other" might be used. Relative to balls, either "this ball is more round" or "this ball is rounder" would be correct.

No. It doesn't make sense. How can one circle be more round than another? Now if you are talking about 'rings' then that's a nother problem, you could say that This ring is more circular than the other.

YES THAT'S FINE TO SAY THAT WAY BECAUSE YOU ARE LETTING YOUR READER KNOW THAT THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE ONE CIRCLE THEN FROM SAY THE OTHERS IS THAT IT SEEMS TO BE MORE ROUND LOOKING.
