Sadly they all seem to think that viewers are away on holiday or doing things far too important to care about what's on the tele.

Check out Ch. 2 or SBS. At least they have different programs and don't rely on the same old.

It's just their way of extending the ratings season and trying to get better viewer points in the long run.

It is economics, they don't want to show programs that are new on a weekend that they feel most people will not be watching television, this holds true for most holidays. Plus April is not a "sweeps" month. Sweeps being periods where the ratings of shows determine how much they can charge advertising.

I don't like it either, but with DVDs and TIVO I just horde something for times like that.
