Anything is boring if you don't like it. There are many reasons why you don't like it. Top of the list would be these two. The teacher is boring. You do not grasp the importance of it.
Without maths you'd end up under a car because you couldn't make that instantaneous calculation of the speed of an approaching car and calculate its distance from you, the time it will take to arrive where you are and whether you can cross the road fast enough to avoid being squished, assuming the car continues to travel at the same speed and doesn't swerve to avoid you.
The guy who says we don't need maths, use calculators. OK smarty, who is going to program them? If you go to a shop and buy 3 items at $2 and 4 items at $7.50 and hand over $50 note, when the cashier gives you $11 change how would you know if that was correct - assuming the batteries in your calculator are flat? Pencil and paper? Sorry, wrong answer - you flunked maths and can't add up remember, because you said we don't need it.
And if you are gonna sell dope for a living you better know your maths or you are likey to be picked up out of a gutter with a 9mm in your head.
I must admit I also hated maths when I was at school, more so geometry. In fact I hated school full stop! I saw no need for half the crap they were trying to teach me - I still don't, but the other half came in handy.
Calculators don't program computers, people do. Calculators are a tool whiich can be very useful but it is not an answer within itself.
An elderly lady friend of mine related this genuine experience to me.
She was at the supermarket when they had a power failure. Naturally the cash registers don't work without power. There was a line up of people wanting to buy their groceries but the girl on the checkout said she couldn't calculate the cost because she had no cash register. My friend was at the head of the line and asked the girl to just add-up the three things she had and as she was paying cash she didn't need a receipt. The girl apologised and pointed out that she could not do this without the cash register.
3 items for heaven's sake! 1 hundred I could accept but not three. My friend withdrew a pen and paper from her handbag and wrote down the price of the items (which had price stickers on them) and added it up, offered the girl the money and was refused. Why? The girl couldn't add up without the cash register and couldn't tell if the total was correct. The manager was called with a calculator but took one look at my friend's calculations and asked the girl on the checkout why she couldn't have checked the adding up. Her reason... didn't have a calculator.
My friend paid for her groceries and left, with the manager shaking his head.
When I was a school leaver I got a job at Woolworths Dept Store. Before I could get a job I had to do a maths test to show I could correctly work out the cost of a number of items and give the correct change. If I'd failed that I wouldn't have had a job. Today our numeracy and literacy skills are at an all time low - as is evidenced by the number of poorly grammaticised questions and answers and the number of people like the girl at the checkout who can't add up.
Maths might be boring sweetie but pay attention - you are going to need it. See if you can find a way to make it more interesting - ask yourself if I had to buy X of Y and I only had $Z and Y costs B each, how many can I get if I buy myself a cappachino first which also costs B.
Answer: One less than if you didn't buy the cappachino!
One final thing to consider: If you know your measurements in inches but the clothes you want to buy are in cm. how do you know what size to buy?

Maths is not boring. It seems boring only when you do not understand the fundamentals or concepts. Once the fundamentals are clear, the subject becomes easier.
At high levels (graduate or postgraduate level), maths do gets tough, and it is challenging to solve difficult questions.
So, get your fundamentals right and enjoy this subject. May be you can take classes from some good teacher who can explain you by pointing out some real life examples and generate interest in the subject.

I too hate Maths. Or should i say Maths does not like me. Many say it is their favourite subject and also say that if understood it is the most easiest subject. I am a tough guy so i don't want anything to be easy so i get just 75% in Maths.

I think the reason why you think it is boring is because your teacher made the subject boring. My math teachers make Maths fun to learn that's why I like Maths.
Also, Maths is really important in whatever you do, especially in finding a job. So do try to take more interest in Maths is my advice.

If you look at the applications of math it will not be boring because everything around us cant be described and understood with math you just need to look past the drudgery of learning the fundamentals and explore the applications give it a chance it can open some amazing doors.

Because it has zero ( 0 ) which has no start and no end. But yar d moment u will undrstand the logic behind any question and u will solve few questions of similar type. U will get confidence and start getting interest in that. So jani it is very interesting thing if u put a little effort in understanding d logic behind the solution of a problem.

Did you hear about physical exercises. Most of the people don't do it and they become sick.It is the most important one for healthy life. But difficult to follow.Similarly maths is an exercise to your mind.If you solve problems frequently then it will improve your thought power which helps you to study other subjects well.Don't consider maths as a subject, consider it as an exercise and start doing it.Maths is a fundamental science and without that,we are unfit to live.

Yeah! I sure know what you mean (been there) but for me I found out the true reason was I had trouble to understand it.. Best advice is to find someone who's really good in Maths and willing to be your tutor. I know it's difficult but you're gonna need it big time later on in your everyday life.

You are under wrong impression. It is very interesting.
At the beginning every path seems to be difficult. But as you practise it becomes very easy.
Remember when you learn to ride a two wheeler. But with the practise of riding bi-cycle it makes easy. Similar is the case with maths.
Actually every subject is interesting.
So practise the maths basics and learn every formula in it that will make your path easier.
