i have an xp OS in two Pcs in tghe same network and i want to send a mmesage from one to another i know the IP address for the Two PCs?

go to command prompt
tyoe follow. cmd
net send abc "message"
"abc" is computer name

for this both computers must be in same workgroup or domain

to see all computer in same domain or workgroup
type command on cmd prompt
net view -this will disp all computer name to whom u can send messages

net send machinename message

sure, i could advise RDP. in spite of the fact that, i found out which you could't use it with Vista and XP for some unusual reason. extra contemporary variations can't connect with older variations, yet older variations can. i don't be attentive to why. only verify they have an identical protocols put in, if no longer, only set up them and additionally you'll be waiting to bypass. e.g. RDP, Telnet.

You used to be able to do a .netsend, with command prompt, but they stopped that. Now, you have to get messenger.
