It's an unbeleivable come back in England's part.But...what a Cricket Match?
It's a "Nerve Wrecking & Goose Bumpin match so far in theis world cup.Sri Lanka held their nerve and beat England by two runs in a game that swung Like a Pendulum, this way and that.
But The Lankans would be disappointed that they didn’t capitalize on the good start that they got from their top order, and particularly disappointed that both Upul Tharanga and Jayawardene got out after being well set. It’s when a batsman has got to his half century that its crucial for him to carry on, and get more, for that means a well set batsman bats through the major overs and does not leave it to a new man at the crease to do the shot making.
The Lankans missed out on at least 40 to 50 runs because most of their well-set batsmen got out at the wrong time and at the termination of the innings, they would have wanted those extra runs in the kitty. But they are a fighting lot, the Lankans, and were not going to give up.
By means of ever reliable Vass & Mean- Malinga withTwo early wickets- gave them just the start they needed, and after the Bell-Pietersen partnership was broken, they kept pegging away at the English.
Fernando claimed the important wickets of Collingwood and Flintoff, after Murali had got rid of the danger-man Pietersen, caught and bowled. A rollicking partnership between Ravi Bopara and Nixon got England agonizingly close, but Fernando kept his cool and Sri Lanka can breathe a lot easier after this win.

England though will have to look at doing things a bit differently and promote Flintoff to open the batting rather than waste his hitting talent down the order. That will give their batting just the momentum it needs in the big games against Australia and South Africa , whom they have to beat to get to the semis.

The climax was... Fernando for picking wickets at a crucial time and then keeping cool and bowling the well-set Bopara to win the game for his country.Anti-climax was Flintoff's lacklustre show with the bat.
Murali & Kevin,s battle was dramatic in the middle.
Any way,..Lankans by their attitude really deserves this Win.

English team could have played better had they showed the instinct to win early on in the match. But full marks to Sri Lanka for their victory. Although I doubt that the result would have been the same had Dilhara Fernando bowled the last ball at one go. Ravi Bopara and Paul Nixon played a good innings towards the end. The reverse six of Murali's ball by Paul Nixon was classy

It was an exciting match. Full credit should be given to Sri Lanka for clinching the victory as the handled the pressure extremely well and did not wilt under pressure.

Impressive, though Cricket is not that popular in England compared to Sri Lanka. However a win is a win.

in the experience that your talking approximately Cricket, i think of Sri Lanka can sweep England. even however England invented the interest, they have yet to tutor themselves as a dominating rigidity. on the different hand, Sri Lanka is properly-widespread for Cricket. even however they do no longer seem to be interior the ideal 5, they'll win. in the experience that your talking approximately soccer, NO way! sure of direction they are able to.Sri Lanka are no longer that reliable far flung from residing house yet england have the weakest bowling attack in international cricket on the 2d.the only element which could quit Sri Lanka is nutrition poisoning on the day of a interest.

Not the best especially as the wicket had just been rolled and it was supposed to be a batting wicket. We need a couple of decent openers because Joyce and Bell have done nothing for us. I'd move Pietersen upto number 1 or 2 and bring Strauss back in. Fletcher must go!!!! Bowlers played well but didn't have the luck over the first 15 overs.
