Maybe we could have a national referendum on whether we should leave Iraq? Or even better, maybe we should even ask the people who should pay for the fiasco?

I think we had the closest thing we'll ever have to a national referendum last November. Still, I like your idea.

Bad idea. Leaving Iraq, when and how it happens takes a great deal more planning and thought than a 'national referendum.' I suspect you are up to speed on what is going on in Iraq, but do you think the general public is informed enough to make such decisions? Most are too busy watching the next episode of Dancing with the Stars or Lost, and wouldn't be able to find Iraq on a map, let alone distinguish the complexities of the situation.

I think you should be more worried by the legitimate demands for financial war reparations from the government and people of Iraq in about 15-20 years time against the USA and UK.

If their demands are not met then they simply get support of the Arab oil producers to ratchet up the price of oil enough to send us into recession and make us feel the heat for a change.

America couldn't even afford to re-build New Orleans and look after its own!

Then what would the Senate, Congress, & the President argue about. Who am I kidding they would argue about a front row seat in h*ll.

I guess we could vote on it, but we all know how elections go...
So yeah, lets ask Al Gore on that one. I wonder what he thinks...

Maybe we should just impeach the president for putting us in such disarray.
