I'm 29 weeks pregnant and I'm in the same boat. But I can't sleep because I'm uncomfortable.I just take a hot bath and drink some milk before bed.My mom gave me some herbal drops that I put on my pillow and it helps me sleep. You need to find a way to relax before bed.Being stressed is preventing you from sleeping well,so if you do something that helps you relax you will probably find that you sleep better! Hope I could help :)

Chronic heartburn is usually from acid reflux - stomach acid is getting past the little valve and into your esophagus. You also should know some natural ways to treat your heartburn. Learn them here https://tinyurl.im/aH879

The most immediate thing you can do is to stop drinking coffee and cola. Smoking is not good either, but that might be harder to stop. Don't over-eat. Don't lie down too soon after eating. Don't burp too much - this carries acid up with the burp.

heartburn the most common symptom of acid reflux disease (also known as gastroespohageal reflux disease, or GERD). Heartburn feels like a burning pain in the center of the chest. It is caused by acid from the stomach backing up into the esophagus. is a symptom of acid reflux disease (GERD) Also known as Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease

If you don't want to take tums or rolaids or they don't work for you try papya vitamins. You can find them at any pharmacy, just ask the pharmacist. They don't have anything in them that can hurt you, and you don't have to limit how many of them you consume.
Try to eat small meals through out the day instead of three big ones, this is another way to keep the heartburn away. Also drinking small amounts of milk will coat your esophagus and help cut down on the acid.
Good luck & Congratulations...

I had the worst indigestion ever during my pregnancy throughout the day and night. I had trouble sleeping and found it very painful. The things that worked the best for me were: anti acid tablets, drinking plenty of water, no spicy foods, don't go to bed on full stomach, warm glass of milk, peppermints, peppermint gum, sleep slightly propped up in the bed and light exercise(during daytime).
I had a beautiful baby girl and haven't had any indigestion since her birth.

Good luck with every thing and all the best.

I carried around a huge bottle of TUMS in my purse from the beginning of my second trimester until I gave birth. It worked pretty well for me. If for some reason I couldn't get to any I would eat a few saltine crackers (low sodium) because they would help soak up some of the stomach acid and relieve the burn for a while. Try keeping some saltines next to your bed with a bottle of TUMS. I feel your pain! Good luck. You'll see it's worth it in the end. :)

First sleep on your left side something to do with how the body is constructed and then my Dr had me take Zyrtec. My hart burn was no fun and I love hot spicy food. Also a bland diet at night before going to bed and a glass of milk.

Drink lots of water, don't lay down after you eat, you need to stay upright for I think 30 minutes atleast, before laying down, of course avoid spicy and greasy foods. Mylanta works quickly and is safe to take, ask your Dr. about Prevacid,,,I took it with my pregnancy. You would be surprized at what doesnt cross the placenta.

I would suggest Pepcid, Zantac, Prilosec...etc. These medications are very safe to take during pregnancy. Many are Category B, which means animal studies indicate no fetal risks, but there are no human studies; or adverse effects have been demonstrated in animals, but not in well-controlled human studies.

If you take too many Tums, you risk forming kidney stones.

TUMS were my best friend during pregnancy.. they really worked... I would always have to have some before bed... something about laying down brought on heartburn, and it only gets worse the farther along you get.
