This question is so awesome, because my first "scary" movie I ever watched was the Nightmare on Elm streets. I loved them, I had the whole collection on Vhs, and wore them all out, so I bought them on DVD.
I also watched the Prom night movies.
oh yeah I forgot about Hellraiser. Gotta agree with another person. Hellraiser rocked! so did child's play one, the rest of the child's play just turned into a twisted Comedy.

Hmmm, I don't really like movies that become series.
My cousin and I once spent a day watching Nightmare on Elm Street movies until we'd seen every last one of them. Bo-ring.
I liked Final Destination 1 and 2, but heard enough panning of #3 to not see it.
Oh, I have loved all 3 Terminator movies... though they're not really horror flicks, I guess.

Elm st. is cool--love Halloween and Friday the 13th too.
But the Hellraiser series by Clive Barker are the best!

My favorite series is Poltergeist. Except # 3. But I'll watch that, too, when it's on TBS or something. (horror series)
