Mine does that now and then...I just unplug it from the pc tower and then plug it back in and it works. Same with the keyboard. A super thin coating forms that messes up the connection and unplugging and replugging seems to 'scrap' it off and fix it. Sometimes you have to restart after doing this too.

Restart computer, check connection, try another mouse. If this is a laptop and you are talking about the pointer "pad", these can be turned off when using a real mouse. There is usually a "system tray" icon for these to adjust them.

Try unplugging it, and putting it back in. Wait about 10 seconds before you put it back in. If that doesn't work, and it's a USB mouse, try plugging it in to another USB port. If it's a PS2 mouse, don't plug it in to the other port, or the purple port, because that's the keyboard port. The mouse port is green. It will fit into the keyboard port, but the mouse will not work.

if its a usb mouse try another usb port. if its just a simple ps2 mouse try another mouse on your pc. if its wireless just move the device connected on back of your pc closer to your mouse.
