Everyone that I meet thinks that I am Asian/part Asian; I have caramel skin tone and I big eyes. And yet, everyone thinks that I am Black and Japanese or something. I asked them why they thought this, and they just told me that I have "Asian features". What makes a person have "Asian features". I am just curious.

I am NA btw, but that isn't the point. I am sick of people thinking that I am Black-Chinese/Filipino/Black-Japanese.

I have always been accused of being mixed with Chinese and Black, however in reality my small eyes come from my Native American ancestry. My family history has identified me as having bloodlines with two Native American tribes and yet I am viewed upon as part Asian because of my almond shaped eyes. I really don't understand why race is such an issue here in America, but the sad reality is that it is. It is much easier to identify with your own here, because it's like a security blanket. No one really wants to step out of the confines of ones self. However, if race wasn't so much an issue, there would not be any confines to step out of. I understand what you're saying and I myself get tired of the HEY!!! You look just like Tiger Woods....no I don't I look like me.

It's got to be the eyes. Native Americans and certain Asians have very similar features. I've seen a picture in a book comparing the two races side by side for similar features. I think it was a picture of an apache baby and a northern mongoloid featured baby. They look so similar. Lots of things are the same. Some Native americans and some Asians could be easily confused.

But I think the eyes have it, and also the jet black hair. I think it's a compliment. Usually people say that to mean that you look exotic. It's annoying, but, hey, what can you do accept have fun with it and turn lemon into lemonade?

Well different Asians look different. I am an Asian. The middle eastern people specially the Iranians have Aryan genes. But because of desert climate they have a differnt skin tone. Pakistanis and Afghans look the same except that the Pakistanis are darker than Afghans. People in the Asia-Pacific have Mongol genes. But the Indians are a mixture of all races except Native-Americans. But climate has darkened their skin.In general the Asians have large eyes, black hair, medium skin tone.

Not all asians have slanty eyes, flatter faces or yellow skin. Indians are considered Asian, but aren't really similar in appearance to Chinese or Japanese. Asians have no certain look. They can have all kinds of features.. yellow skin, brown skin, whitish skin.. deep set eyes, monolids, epicanthic folds, high nose bridges, flat noses, thin faces, round faces.. Though Asians are often stereotyped as looking Chinese or East Asian..

People that are not asian have a crease above their eyes called a double lid. Most to all asians don't have that crease. It is called a single lid. Even if you don't have a single lid, if you have a certain eye shape that resembles one, than lots of people will mistake you for asian

Asia is a very large continent comprising of people with different skin tones- Afghans, israelis are fair, Indians are brown, Chinese and other mongolians are yellow skinned. MOngolians have small slits for eyes, broad nose and generally round face with straight hair, short heights---chinese, japanese, koreans, vietnamese, philipinoes etc belong to this race.

Indians, pakistanis are wheatish in complexion with big almond shaped black eyes, black hair and average heights.

Then these Afghanis/israelis/parts of erstwhile USSR are white complexioned, brown hair, coloured eyes and are tall.

So you see Asia has very varied variety of inhabitants. Who do you resemble or mistaken for????

It is possible you are mixed, much of the world is and they do not know because they have not taken the time to retrace our past. As they guy above me states, Asia is the largest continent on Earth with many different tribes. The more Far East you go, they tend to be of a more pure racial stock, but as you go west they tend to be mixed, and you go even further west, they tend to be of the caucasoid racial stock. We all come from different ancestors, each developing traits suitable for survival to a particular enviroment. Each race will have strengths and weaknesses, each race will have particular body parts that are prominent.

Hot sexiness.

Aside from that, the most common features of non-Indian
Asians is almond shaped eyes and/or the absence of an eye-fold.
