Let's separate the character from the actor. Alan Rickman is a pretty charming guy; he has done some impressive work in film; and I guess you could fall for him. Let's face it, he has do more impressive work in movies like "Dogma" and "The January Man." Sex appeal is there, but not to the extent as the major stars in Hollywood.
On the other hand, Snape from the Harry Potter books is a vile scum with greasy hair and snotty disposition. I am hard press to find anything that resembles sex appeal in the character. Sadistic, maybe but given that the series is geared for kids, that side will never be examined except in fan fiction.
The results? I say you should find Rickman a lot sexier than Snape.

I think that Alan Rickman (who portrays Snape) has one of the SEXIEST voices on the planet. However, as Snape, with the pasty complexion, greasy black hair and eyes, I'd have to say no.
Yeah it's normal to wonder about it, because he's one of those guys...

'Fraid not, but I have found him (Alan Rickman) to be more than a little appealing in some of his other roles. He's a terrific actor.
