The main contenders are: Aus, SA, SL, Eng, NZ, WI, and then there are Ban and Ire.
Lets start with Ban and Ire. They have done well to get into the super8 and I don't see them going any further. They lack experience at this level but congratz to Ireland for doing so well in their first world cup.
West Indies. Moral is very low in the camp now and they just seem to lack the hunger for performance. The home country never does well so I don't think they will get past the semi's.
England just doesn't have what it takes right now to compete with Aus, SA or Sri L. Though I must admit their performance against New Zealand yesterday was pretty impressive.
New Zealand has got a good team and not many people know that. They are capable of winning and if Aus and SA don't respect them, they can cause an upset. They will reach the Semis in 4th.
Sri Lanka. Their variety is their strength and they have a stable top order. A very good unit that will most probably finish 3rd on the log.
South Africa is the one team that can take it from the Aussies and with their captain performing so well they will finish 2nd on the log.
Australia have dominated this sport for almost a decade now but I think their reign is over now. However they remain strong favorites.
My predictions: Semi 1 Aus vs NZ. Semi 2 SA vs SL.
The final will be Aus vs SA with SA ending the Aussie dominance and beating them.

I agree with the popular notion - Aussies. Look at their confidence levels and ease with which they have been playing so far. There are no surprises since IND got eliminated.
My personal favorites, South Africa. But they also choke just like NZ, SL or even WI (now a remote chance).
Have you noticed how dull this WC has been so far? There are no upsets, no on field controversies (of course there is a lot of off-field masala - PAK & IND related stories). Even the crowd look disinterested but for a handful of die-hard fans. Heck, there are hardly any people watching the games in the stadium. This WC sucks!

main contenders for the title, since cricket is a game of uncertainties, nothing can be predicted for sure at this stage.
However, hot favourites among the above 4 teams is Australia, if they continue the same performance till the end.

well.....i feel its going to be aussies.......finals will be aus vs kiwis and as usuall they will win it aaram se.....1 sidedly.....By scoring over 300 and getting them out in lets say less than 250........So CHEERS and enjoy the world cup....
