Someone that is there for the good and the bad, someone that can and will keep your secrets, someone that you can trust and someone that respects you, doesn't try to tell you how to live and doesn't judge you.

I don't know.. Because only a friend can stab you in the back.
Then it's twice as bad because they "were" you're friend.
To me a friend is someone I can trust my life with. Because that's the type of friend I am.. I expect no less in return. All the rest are just acquaintances.

A friend is your support system. Somebody that is there for the highs and the lows in your life. And a very rare and precious treasure too.

friends are good for talking with, hanging with, and some times if your really lucky you will have a best friend, who is always there for you. good, bad, ugly, funny, everything friend.

someone who would help you out no matter the situation.
someone to give you adive.
someone to pray with/for you.
someone to laugh with you not at you.
someone who "loves you" (as a friend).
