Go to a chevy dealer and have them retreive the codes. Then you can make an informed decision as to where the problem is. It could be you went over a certain mileage usually 60,000 mile increments and it flagged the catalytic converter flag.

The check engine light on most cars is an indication of that the computer has detected a problem - bad values from a sensor, etc. There are very simple devices that can be plugged into your car to tell you what "code" the computer has and manuals to convert the "code" into a problem that can be corrected.

you can go to just about any advance or auto zone or pep boys or someplace like that and they can scan the pc to see what the code is or you can take it to the dealer and they can also tell you
