No, i was older at the time but even I know that guy in the band was his brother. Mark was never in. Mark did his own thing years later, but now is happy acting instead.

mark wahlberg was one of the first new kids on the block members but decided it wasn't what he wanted and quit for the new kids got off the ground he was then replaced by jamie kelly who decided that he thought new kids wouldn't make it anyway and abruptly left, then he was replaced by joe macintyre so yea mark was a new kid for awhile but not for long but hey if mark had stayd we would have had little joey mac so i guess its a good thing he decided not to join.

As a matter of fact he was, extremely briefly, when the band was first starting out, but he quit before they even put out an album.
