6 = 2 * 3
9 = 3 * 3

The easiest way would be to multiply the fraction by the other fractions denominator. You may have to simplify in the end, but I think this is the easiest way.
For example:
1/6 + 3/9
Multiply 1/6 by 9 so 9/54
Multiply 3/9 by 6 so 18/54
9/54 + 18/54 = 27/54
Now to simplify, divide the numerator and denominator by the same number to simplify.
For this problem, the easiest divisible number to see immediately would be 9.
27 divided by 9 = 3
54 divided by 9 = 6
3/6 can be simplified still to 1/2.

1/6 and 3/9
here 3/9 can b further simplied to 1/3..so that you work is much easier and you can find the answer to ur solution quicker...
so now u have 1/6 and 1/3
here the denominators are 6 and 3...so from the tables of 6 and 3 you should find a number thats common in both of the tables....so you get 6 how??
you know
3 x 2 = 6
1 x 6 = 6
so in 1/6 ...'6' is already ur denomiator.... and in 1/ 3 you need the denominator to b '6' so 3 x 2 =6
so, 1/3 times 2 in the numerator and denomiator gives you
2/ 6
there fore,
1/6 + 2/6= 3/6
which can b further simplified to 1/2

You multiply the two denominator 6X9 which equals 54.. Multiply the one in 1/6 by 9 which would equal 9/54 and multiply 3 by 6 in the 3/9 which would equal 18/54 then add 9/54 + 18/54 to get 27/54 to reduce 27/54 would be 1/2

With something like that you want to make sure that you have the fraction reduced and then you find the multiples of each denominator
1/6 is reduced
3/9 redices to 1/3
multiples of 6=6, 12, 18, 24, 30, etc...
multiples of 3=3, 6, 9, 12, 15
Then you find the lowest match, which in this case is 6...and you have to multiply 3 by 2 to get 6 so 1/3x2/2=2/6

you find a common denominator by getting a factor that agrees for both numbers
6=2x3
9=3x3
2x3x3=18
1/6=3/18 and 3/9 would become 6/18
3/18+6/18=9/18==reduced to 1/2

1/6 reduced is 1/6.
3/9 reduced is 1/3.
The common denominator is 6 so it would be 1/6 and 2/6.
I think, good luck!

you times both numbers on the left side by the denominator on the right and do the same for the right side, it will give you the same denominator
1/6+3/9
1x9/6x9 + 3x6/9x6 =9/54+18/54
