I'm doing the same thing. I think your supposed to find the GCF like this:

36y^2+x^2-13xy:

36y^2= 3*3*2*2*y*y
x^2=x*x
-13xy=-13*1*x*y

so it would be:
1(36y^2+x^2-13xy)
so it is already factored, just put it in standard form like this:
36y^2+x^2-13xy
