I'm currently majoring in Criminal Justice, I go to a 2yr college, but I always found an interest in the field of Egyptology, and maybe after I gruduate from my 2 yr. college I would like to persue being a Egyptology. Is it possible that I can completely major in something totally different then what I'm majoring now after I gruduate??

Yes, you can switch completely even after you have your degree. I know a guy who went from a Biology BA to a Russian Language Ph.D--it's not impossible.

Egyptology is actually a specialization under anthropology, which means that you have to go to grad school to get the degree. And before that, you'll probably have to get a four year degree--it's easiest to do it in anthropology but it's not necessary.

What most graduate programs look for is how you score on you GRE and whether you have enough of a background in degree related subjects to get through the program. So, even if you don't have an anthropology degree, if you've taken some anthropology classes then they may still accept you.

It also helps to get recommendations from professors who really like you (at least 3 are required).

You should talk to an advisor at your school and request information from any universities in your area that offer anthropology/Egyptology graduate programs.

Most students at four-year universities who are studying the liberal arts or the social sciences don't declare their major until they are a junior. You can certainly study something different when you move to another university. The worst that will happen is that you may have to take one or two extra classes.
