I was at a friends house, and we made a funny video. I was trying to get it to my own computer with my flash drive, but before i left his house, the video automatically compressed itself. We did this on Windows Movie Maker. I also have this program. I tried running it on this as well as Windows Media Player. Neither will work because of the compression. Any tips on how to get it to work, or any good uncompression tools? Thanks in advance.

It actually did do it automatically. We tried to watch the video right after we made it. Right after we hit play, a message came up saying that the video had been compressed. We also had noticed ourselves that the video timeline looked smaller.

After trying to play it on Windows Media Player, it said it couldn't play it because it wasn't recognized by the program used to compress it (Windows Movie Maker). It also said it was a .MSWMM file. Anyone know what to do?

Try downloading the XPCodec pack. It might work for you.

Nothing happens "automatically". What format is the video now, and how do you know it's "compressed"?

EDIT: Then it can be opened by MovieMaker. See if there is an EXPORT command that'll write it to AVI or whatever.
