Scratch any religion, you'll find a bunch.

Still no comet coming to take the eunuchs up into space.
David Koresh, still hasn't risen from his tomb.
Jesus still hasn't shown up, despite claims that he would in 1844 by William Miller (7th day Adventist) or by all those people that knock on my door in the morning.
Still no race war, courtesy of Charles Manson or any of the survivalist nuts hiding in Idaho.

On the secular side, Where is My flying car?
or since that one is a bit dated by now.
Where is my fiery Apocalypse. Growing up in the 70s, I was assured an early, pretty, quick death in the atomic destruction of MAD (Mutually Assured Destruction). Now there was an Apocalypse, really can the tipping point for Global Climate Change, the end of anti-biotics & pesticides, or even Bird Flu even compare? I was promised a glowing fireball damn it, now all you can look forward to is a bankrupt pension and social security plan.

I pay little or no attention to prophecies and predictions. We cannot even get the weather prediction right, who how is anyone going to predict accurately a future event?

At best, all we can do is base what we think may happen on past events. History repeating itself, etc.
