At this point, it's nothing but U.S./Cuba ego and face saving.
Basically, we want Castro to beg us from his knees, and do what we want, and Castro would rather die than suck up to the US even a bit.
It's a very childish situation on both sides.

The Cuban expat foyer in Miami could whine approximately it, yet specific that's time. permit's be truthful, the embargo is a source of derision and entertainment to something of the international, an occasion of the u . s . a . stamping its ft and sulking like a spoilt brat which could not get its own way. It did the comparable with Vietnam after the North Vietnamese confirmed the U. S. militia its ar$e. the U. S. logo of a bald eagle could get replaced with a picture of a infant with its backside lip caught out.

Yep. They won't though because the cuban Dispora in Flordia is such a strong group.
This is the real reason Bush won Florida in 2000, because Reno and Clinton sent that Eliean Gonzales back to Cuba and pissed the Cuban dissidents off.

Sure. We should be morally neutral in all matters of trade. We should import as many goods as possible that are made with child labor, slave labor and inhuman working conditions. The fact that Cubans have almost no human rights or basic freedoms such as speech does not mean that we shouldn't cash-in and make as much money off of them as possible.

Should it happen? Yes. Will it happen? Doubtful. Right now our politicians are more concerned with baiting each other rather than the best interests of the country. Until we are able to get some fresh perspectives in Washington, the status quo will continue.

I have believed for all these years that Cuba had the wall up. And that our sanctions came later.
Can you prove Cuba isn't keeping us out?
So, Argle, when Clinton didn't do business with Cuba, was that the Democrats "catering?" The Cubans in Florida are genuinely in a position to know, after all, since they fled CUBA!

If we open up to Cuba, we will change that country from a feeble communist country to a free country. And without firing a shot. The hell with the Miami Cubans. They have held American foreign policy hostage far too long.
