Because that's closer to the truth than the inverse, which so many Christians love to gripe about.

Easter was originally a pagan festival celebrating spring, nature, and the vernal equinox.

Don't beleive me? Then why is easter set on the first sunday after the first full moon after teh vernal equinox? If it was the anniversary of Jesus's ressurection, shouldn't it be on the same date every year?

It amazes me how people will not talk about ramadan, diwali Eid but are so quick to trash christianity, tear it down and try to slander what some people hold very dear to heart. I mean honestly people need to find a better pass time that tryig to falsly pick out on Christianity. There needs to be respect on that which is sacred. Especially the most important event to christians

<> a million. What info is there that this FICTIONAL Easter Bunny steals his eggs from, properly, every physique? 2. Easter does not commemorate Jesus' loss of existence. that's what good Friday is for. Easter commemorates the Resurrection of Jesus.

One might also ask why was Easter celebrated before the time of Christ, and if eggs are a symbol of the stone rolled away from the tomb instead fertility and regeneration, why isn't the egg a Christian symbol year round instead of only when there's competition?

And why does the holiday bear the name of a fertility goddess whose symbols are rabbits, eggs, and the moon?

Let's not pop a brain cell on this. C'mon guys, it's obvious.

I believe the two were brought together to encourage a celebration that would suit both religions at the same time. Its like the time of sun worship is the same as the celebration of the birth of Christ!!!

The Easter Bunny is a cop out icon used by pagans to replace Jesus, because he gave us a gift of eternal life. We believe in Jesus, others believe in the Easter Bunny.

I'm a atheist but think it's in terribly bad taste to belittle one of Christianity's most important anniversaries. Learn to respect other people's beliefs if you want yours to be respected.
