Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. But that is what my mini red crabs did when they were dieing. Do you have a place for them to get air? Are the able to get in and out of water?
I have 10 mini red crabs. The crabs will die more quickly if you don't give them access to air. My tank is a 10 gallon tank the gravel slopes down and there is a piece of drift wood in there. The tank is only filled half way up with water. THat is the only way my crabs make it. Well good luck. If you want email me any further questions or the answers to the above questions!

Your crab may be in trouble, or it may be preparing to molt.

In addition to being able to get out of the water, these guys (and fiddler crabs too) need to have salt in their water. At stores they're kept in freshwater, but this isn't how they live. If you don't have a lot of calcium in your water, a liquid calcium supplement might be needed for them to harden their shell.

If he's molting, his shell is going to be extremely soft for a while - at this time he migh t be vulnerable to any fish in the tank that might decide to try and eat him. Be sure he has some rocks or somewhere he can crawl into for protection where the fish can't get to him.

Don't listen to the first two answeres, they are really mean people. I don't know why your little crab keeps flipping over but I would call your vet and ask them. I really hope your crabby is ok, email me and let me know.

Good luck :)

Yeah it's dead. Go ahead and boil some water and you might get a lil taste. Then it'll be with you forever.
