If EVERYONE were allowed to carry a gun?

In the old west everyone carried and although there was still SOME crime, the statistics were dramaticly less per capita than today.

I know it's a strange thought coming from a Neo Pacifist, but still.. .humor me.

Tell Matticus he WANTS to KNOW.

I would say that would make us pretty darn even with the criminals. Since there are not enough law officials to take care of everyone. On the more serious side, we would have blood baths in the streets. Still I own one, and since I live in Texas, I have a license to carry it with me. A law is going into effect that we will be able to not only carry it, the shop owners will be allowed to have them on the premises in case of a robbery, and we also will be able to defend ourselves, and our cars against carjackings, as well as protect our homes which we can do now. So watch Texas to see if this works.

I got a better idea...

How about abolishing all firearms (handguns, shotguns, rifles, weapons, etc.) once and for all?

Do you think that would solve the problem huh?

I reckon so!

No more guns for anyone; not the police, not the Federal agents, not the financial institutions, not the store owners, not the civilians, not the hunters, not the criminals, not the gangsters, not the gang leaders, nobody gets a gun, that's it!

No more shooting, no more hunting, no more animal killing...

No more (misfired) bullets = no more violence!

I think that would be the best solution by far!

Don't you?

It's my opinion, I respect it and I am sticking by my guns (pardon the pun!).

Do you?

Let me know Matticus The Roman!

P.S. By the way, who is the idiot who invented firearms in the first instance and why?

Yes.
If everyone could carry a gun, no one would walk into a store holding out a gun, saying "Give me the money!" Because anyone one there could pull out the gun and shoot them.

If everyone had a gun, not as many murders would probably happen, but probably more manslaughter than in states where it is illegal to carry a gun.
Yes, there definitely would be less.

I learned in Sociology that religion had to be established due to all the crime and immorality that was happening back in the old west.If everyone was allowed to carry a gun and take the law into their own hands,we would have less humans not less crime in this world. My opinion.

I live in the Chicagoland area. In the City of Chicago it is against the law to carry a gun. Guns are banned within city limits.

So how come there are still drive by shootings in Chicago?

No! Especially down here where I live(Around crazy *** rednecks)!! I most certainly do not think that crime will decrease at all!!! There's always going to be a crazy motherfu**er that goes off in his/her extreme state of depression and go on a killing rampage!! So no, I don't think so!

We were discussing this the other night! Weird. I say yes, there would be less crime. People would probably be less likely to start sh*t if they knew EVERYONE is packing. Also,if we cut off theives hands when they got caught.......

I feel like there would be more unneccesary crime because instead of getting into fist fights people would pull out their gun. It is a lot easier to pull out a gun and kill someone than it is to threaten someone and punch them.

I believe in the right to protect myself. If someone breaks into my house the only crime will be that he wont be as fast as I am.
