The filaments are made of plastic and are about 20" long. I insert about 2" of one end into a vase with a 1/2 " mouth to form a fountain spray effect. If you have ever seen a blown pair of swans facing each other and the vase with the filaments flowing out of its mouth like a spring standing in the center of the pair swans then you have an idea what I am searching for. I need these filaments for my glassworks. I looking to buy at least 10lbs. of it per order for now if you or you know who may be saleing it.

Durastran is a dumb choice as it does not look anything like glass. You probably need to look for glass or plastic fiberoptic fibers even if you don't light them from one end.

search 'fiber optic strands'
