As the other have already said, the "tune-up" is not really a term that is used anymore with today's vehicles.
The term used to mean: replacing the spark plugs, rotor & condenser, etc. With advanced technology, a "tune-up" is no longer neccessary.
Your spark plugs are now platinum tipped & should not need to be replaced 'till 100,000 miles. In fact the plugs are covered under the emmissions warranty for 8yrs or 80,000 miles & I don't think a rotor & condenser are even on vehicles any more.
You don't mention how many miles are on your Escape or if you are having a problem.
I am going to give you a link to download your maintenance schedule, so you can look up to see what is required for maintenance & intervals:
http://www.motorcraftservice.com/pubs/content/~WO1204/~MUS~LEN/35/01a01mg5e.pdf
(this is in pdf format so you can easily download& save a copy to your computer)
Now if your vehicle is failing an emmissions test (& that is why you think you need a tune-up) you may be able to get Ford to pay for it. That is if you are still within the emmissions warranty period. I am also giving you the link for your warranty book:
http://www.motorcraftservice.com/pubs/content/~WO1204/~MUS~LEN/38/01fm1wa4e.pdf

See pages 12-13-14 for that coverage & the list of parts that are covered.(which includes spark plugs). The list is actually quite extensive.
Remember that this is a Ford warranty so you will need to take advantage of it at a Ford Service Center (Dealership) in order for them to pay for it.

There! I've given you all the free & detailed information that is available. If it has been helpful ...PLEASE don't forget to choose a "Best Answer"!
If this is not an answer to your question, then you'll have to ask more specifically.

I hope this helps.

There is no tune up. The only thing that can be done as maintenance is to replace the spark plugs and maybe wires. There are no adjustments that can be made. A tune up is an outdated term today and should be put to rest. If there is a problem with the way your vehicle runs, then it will have to be evaluated by a professional and new parts will have to be installed to correct it.

As Mtech says, the term "tune-up" is outdated. There really isn't anything you need to do with your vehicle for maintenance, other than regular oil changes, basically. You may need to replace the air filter, fuel filter (beside your gas tank), and spark plugs every now and then, but otherwise maintenance free. If you have driveablitity issues, you would need to have your vehicle scanned (or EEC tested in Ford lingo) for codes, and have the apropriate repairs completed. Hope this helps.

You need to check, replace (if needed), and adjust the following: Spark Plugs, Distributor Cap & Rotor (if you have them), Ignition Wires, Timing Belt, Air Filter, and Fuel Filter.
You need to know: What these things are and how to check and replace them. Otherwise, forget about the word FREE. If you have to check, adjust, or replace a single part, in order to keep your vehicle running at optimum performance; this proceedure is still called a "tuneup"! There will never be such a thing as a "maintenance-free" vehicle. Common sense and reality are never "outdated".

Well, pimping a ford escape seems alittle lame to me. A ford mustang, yes, but a ford escape? You can tint the windows, put stickers on it, maybe nice rims, but thats all.

This sort of information is rarely free, and when it is, remember, you get what you pay for.
The information you seek is very expensive, and the manufacturer charges the publishers dearly for it.
If you want the information and you can't or won't pay for it, go to the library, and use the resources there.
Otherwise, purchase a repair manual from a book store, parts house or on-line for < $20.00.
