Multiply the denominator (8) times the whole number (7) and then add the numerator (3).... put this total over the denominator (8).

8*7 = 56 + 3 = 59

59/8 would be the answer

you times the7 by the 8 and add on the 3 to get 59 then put that over the first denominator which was 8, also to get back to a mixed numeral or what you gave as the questions all you do is divide 7 into 59 write the whole number on the side and the excess next to it
