I agree more with the first. Naivety is one of the things which separates us from our youth is later life, maybe even the one thing which makes youth so magical. As in the saying 'its not the destination that counts, but the journey there' the learning is a lot more fun than the actual knowlege, so the more we know, the less chance we have to enjoy that. Kind of seems to undermine this website actually...we should all start giving bad answers like this one so we never actually know things!

Neither are true by themselves, but, with presuppositions, they can both be true.

The more people know, the more they tend to supress their feelings, and rely solely on their knowledge and intellect to guide their decisions in every area of life.

But, you can know a lot and still feel everything, if you don't surpress your feelings.

In general, the more people know, the more they protect themselves in logical ways, and the less they fear.

But, sometimes, the more people know about how much danger they put themselves that they didn't even realize, the more fear they feel. So that could work either way, depending on the person.

There is another way of interpreting this question, and while not knowing whether it is the correct one, yet I will attempt to answer it:
Learning about a given subject or object necessarily diminishes its mystique, and so, by extension, the unquantifiable interest, or emotional sensation, you have thus far felt regarding that given subject or object.

Actually, in direct contrast to the stated opinion of J.S., above, I posit that the more you know, the more you know it's time for a nap.

That reminds me of something kids used to sing decades ago....

Beans, Beans, the Magical Fruit
The more you eat, the more you toot
The more you toot, the better you feel
So eat some beans at every meal

Neither. The more you know the more you know. Knowledge is an illusion anyway. It may comfort us to believe we know something but actual knowledge is beyond us.
