Yeah, I used to love the way they would change track right in the middle of a song... "and she's buy-i-ing the [KA-CHUNK_click_whiiiirrrrr] stairway to heaven".
I'm not sure about the 4 track? Maybe you mean the 4 track recordings they used to make back in the sixties and seventies? Some of the greatest music ever made, all on four measly tracks...now they use four tracks just to autotune the singer, excuse me "vocalist", lol.

Yea, I heard of them, but the 8 track I had one up until about 12 years ago and I had about 500 8 track tapes, some of the songs were really old, I also had a record player that played 78's, 45's and 33's built into a console with the 8 track player and a radio.

Big time. In fact, I had a 4 plus 4 in my car. It took both, 4 track and 8 track. The big difference was the 8 track had its own wheel, and the 4 track didn't.

Eight-track players were quite the rage in the early to mid-1970s. A little later on, cassette players caught on and replaced them.

Yes, 8 track and 4 track, and then when cassettes became popular, they made those little gadgets you could put the cassette into then plug into your 8 track without having to buy one of those new-fangled cassette players. :)

The very first music I bought were two 8 Tracks, AC/DC Highway To Hell and Back In Black. I remember the stereo came with three tapes a Beatles Hits, Steely Dan, and one with a mixture of odd & ends. I also remember taking it apart and fixing it when it broke for my mom and she was so proud of me.
