hello my red betta is a female and she eats so much i dont know why she eats and doesnt stop i try to only feed her 4 or 5 pelets 2 times a day she isnt very big and i dont want her to die. but she seams healthy and all but she seams over weight and real fat. she eats all the food when i go to feed the other bettas. i have her with her male and they have been together for at lease 2 months and they are fine together. the male has done the bubble thing a few times but she is smaller then him so they dont mate. i dont know what to do if this is normal and she fine please let me know if noe do you have any tips or information.

That seems like a fairly reasonable amount to be feeding her, maybe make sure it's just 4 twice a day. Your two bettas (and yes, Betta is correct NOT beta) will not spawn as long as you are keeping them that way. Eventually, the male will kill her. Sooner or later, it's going to happen. You need to seperate them for a while and up tem back together later if you want them to spawn. Kind of one of those absence make the heart grow fonder type of things.

i have both a female and male beta. they do not live together tho. my male eats hardly anything at all, and never seems hungry, but my female is ravenous 24/7....she flips out every time i come near the bowl because she is always looking for food, and i feed her about 8-9 pellets every night, but this has kept her healthy for as long as i have had her. you aren't doing anything wrong....don't be worried!

Some females just tend to be a bit chubbier than others, it's nothing to worry about. You're feeding her a reasonable amount so there's nothing more you have to do. Good luck with your bettas :)

You could separate them when they eat or just slide something in between them in the tank when they eat.

Don't overfeed your betta!!! They will literally eat until they cannot swim anymore.

maybe it's not about food. are there enough bubbles in the tank, are you cleaning it out, are there more fish out there for her, is it too hot or cold?

Call the store where you got it.
More food= more poop.
More poop= more cleaning
Which for me would= fish flushing.
But thats just me.
