Just think about all the fun you'll have at band camp!

Just think of the Kids who would do anything to have such an opportunity. Who knows maybe you will thank your mom down the road. You may decide you love it. Maybe you need a different instrument. You must be American. They tend to be spoiled and not realize all the opportunities they have that so many wish they could have. Try being grateful, the anger will then go away.

You might end up liking it, so give it a chance. You're mom is just trying to open some doors for you that you otherwise wouldn't. If you still hate it after a couple of months, tell her you gave it a shot and it's still not your thing.

That sux but you may learn valuable things from it and grow to like it and you can meet new people. When my mom makes me things i dont want tp, i just look on the bright side and do it. But i thin you should try it 1st and if u really dont like it then tell her. Good luck!!

Pretend you love it so much, and tell your mom that you do. She will not be expecting that, and so maybe you can feel some satisfaction in that. Bands are cool. You get a chance to misbehave and do things that people in chess clubs don't get to do....and you know what, it'll be "Mom, you drove me to it."

if you really dont want to be in the band then tell her right now. but i have to tell you that it is fun. sometimes, you get to meet new people or just get to know people more. if you are not yet in college, it would give you an advantage on your application. who knows? you might end like it. but then again, you might not. its your choice, you know what's best for you.

Do you have a dad who can help you out?

May be you should find another good hobby and that might convince your mom to listen to you. If you have no hobby at all then your mom might insist this on you.

Have Fun anyways.....

it will look good ona resume for college. it really will. and if your mom is forcing you to do it, just do it. she is less likely to make you again the year after if you just grin and bear it and try in band. show her that you are responsible enough to make your own chioces and this wont happen again next year. start with band.

just my opinion

i know your mom thinks she knows whats better for you, but maybe she thinks you have a lot a free time on your hands , maybe if you engage in other activities, like sports and clubs at school she wouldn't interfere as much, try talking to her instead of stressing .
