I'm a young black male using the Gilette mach 3 razor and the shaving cream thats made for it but I was told that if I switch to a DE Razor that there will be less irritation and a cleaning shave. Ive got a little bit of cash to spend on my face but want to go the right way about it. I'm really sick of this burning sensation on my neck and face. I never look forward to creaming my face after my bath in the morn because of the burning sensation on my jawline and neck. So I need a badger brush? What kind of shaving gel/oil? Do I need that stingy razor bump cream to use after shaving? I want to purchase all this stuff of ebay.co.uk seeing as I am in the UK or even if there are any good british websites where I can make my orders. Regards

You can try using an electric razor or you can try the chemical hair removers (for facial hair). I know that the chemical removers do not leave any bumps. You can also try to use aloe vera gel on your neck and jaw line after shaving. Aloe is a natural soother.

I get this too when I shave hastily. It seems to strike men who have curly beards more often.
Try what I do and see if this works for you, it works great for me:
I shave BEFORE I shower when I can take that extra few minutes (not when I'm in a rush and late for work)
I use regular shaving cream and it doesn't matter how many blades you use if you go slow and only go over each area of your face once (follow the grain.)
Some people are allergic to metal so only go over each area of your face once!
Now this is key, after you shave, wash the lather away with water and pat dry and add moisturizer -- now WAIT for at least 30 minutes before you shower.
Voila! No more bumps.

You might try a shaving cream with a thick, creamy lather. Also, it's important to shave in the direction of the hair growth. This is sometimes difficult, as facial hair often grows in several different directions. Shaving always leaves a bit of stubble, so you may not achieve that perfect smooth skin you had when you were younger. You might try a different razor, and that may help. As a last resort, you could check with a dermatologist, who could recommend a shaving method that's geared to the coarser, thicker beard of a black male. Good luck!

hey man i had the same issue, the best solution i have had so far is use the Gillette fusion.. you know the one with the five blades. and instead of using a shaving cream use a shaving lotion it's smoother. and shave as soon as you feel some stubble. another option but a painful one is waxing every 1 says it works and you wont have to touch it for a week.

Hey Mr Musical

Some of my boys used to get them bad and they use
onyx club bumpfree.
It doesnt have any alcohol in it so it doesn't irritate their skin either, and it doesn't smell bad like the others.
They pretty much stopped getting bumps after switching to it.
www.kii.cc is where they found it

i've been battling this for years now....first of all never let your hair grow...the first sign of stubble shave. now goto a pharmacy and buy some neo medrol. i guarantee this will work. put it on every night before you go to sleep, and in a a couple of days you should be bump free.
