Firstly, I have to salute you as it is a difficult genre to write as however good your fiction is would depend on much research on today’s politics, given the Iraq War and globalization.
Let me see—if it is about US internal politics within the White House, you might want to start with “The president chocked to death over a pretzel. The nation mourns the loss of a great snack connoisseur.”
Oh, ok…seriously, it would be something like “The skies were dark. No one saw how a great leader could just suddenly disappear into the sea without a trace.” Vague, I know…but you could say that it might seem like an abduction, a suicide…then it was finally found out that it was a murder.
Good luck in your writing endeavours.

The hall was dark as the Deputy Director walked from his office to the parking garage. The report had indeed been ominous, detailing times and events that, if made public, could topple the bastions of government. One fact seemed to be irrefutable. They were here, and they had been here for a long time. People say tomorrow is a new day, that is, of course, providing there will be a tomorrow.

"What do you mean I didn't win the votes in Florida?" He was angry, Cussing at God as he reached for the phone to contact Halliburton to find out why those damned computers didn't show that he indeed did win the election. As he dialed the number to reach his old business acquaintance and University buddy, he wondered if this were just a big joke. It had to be. He had made it clear to his buddy that the return for the favor of those rigged computers would have an enormous payback.

With Lincoln at my back watching my moves, I walked into the shadow of Washington's Monument. I moved on only to be caught in the cold glaring eyes of Jefferson's Memorial.

"In the beginning was the word." These words beget other words, and their words beget other words. Such is the nature that my words beget this story, answerable to the beginning. Let us begin here with a the word that will bring all words to light.
