I am trying to decide between UC Berkeley and Tufts for college next year. I live in CA, but I have family near both college locations. I am planning to major neuroscience, neurobiology, or biology and go on to medical school. My parents have told me that money does not matter, I should go where I can get the best education.

I'd rather live in Boston than Berkeley. However, if I'm trying to go to med school, I'm choosing Berkeley for the better rep.
Being a CA resident makes it an even easier choice. Yeah, money may not matter to you parents, but why waste it on a lesser school? Med school is going to cost enough.

UC Berkeley is a better school for most things science (this would include biology) and also has a strong national reputation in the sciences, too. I think most informed and impartial observers would choose UC Berkeley over Tufts unless you wanted to be far away from your parents (which it doesn't sound like you are too much).
Tufts does have a pretty campus though and a sort of old world charm to it and you can look out over Boston on a clear day (and the nighttime skyline is definitely something to see). I can't speak of the beauty of Berkeley's campus as I've never been to CA but I have spent a couple of days at Tufts for some conferences (they're within manageable driving distance of my current college). The food at Tufts is also pretty decent.

If you want to go to medical school -- then you should go to the best school that you can get into. Between the two, Berkeley is the better school.
That being said -- I've lived in both Berkeley (got my PhD there) and Boston (taught at MIT for a year) and prefer Boston to Berkeley.
Both are great schools.

Definitely Berkeley. Tufts is a good school, but it doesn't compare to Berkeley.

Berkeley is an excellent school, the competition may be stiff though. I would choose Berkeley

go to tufts it is an awesome school. I have been there. Doctorate in biology.
