I'm assuming that comcast, roadrunner, and dial-up is your only choices. If that's the case, I'm partical to Comcast. I've had all three connections and I liked Comcast the best. They have great customer service and the internet isn't down much. Now there will be times that your internet will go down and it's going to happen. Just Comcast dosen't go down that much.

Also if you can get Cabel internet, it is a lot faster then DSL. Reason being is that DSL still runs through the phone lines. When a lot of people get on though that company, it normaly starts to slow down. Cabel dosen't have this problem. You will keep your connection speed no matter how many people are online. Unless they have a hardware problem in their office. but that's rare.

Definitely not dial- up. Even though roadrunner is faster, it only matters if you want fast big downloads, but web pages are unnoticeable fast. I'd go with the cheaper one.

Essentially all cable ISPs are created equal and they are the best connections you can have if you can afford it IMO. Gaming is just better on cable.

DSL is also good specially if your plan is for surfing the web uploading/downloading is a little slower but not horribly so.

Dial up is a last resort and AOL is just crap. AOL is just not worth the money. If you are really on a budget then go for a cheap dial up but it is aggravatingly slow even for simple websites.

There only one Internet. Many Internet Service Providers. I use what available and cheap. I also keep Net-zero for a backup and on the road. It inexpensive, but, dial-up seems slow. But, for Messaging, once you connected it as good as Cable, or, it is for me. But, downloads not happen, unless they 50 KB

Go with Comcast, cable is much faster, and doesn't have all the problems of DSL.
