In a very short time after taking office they passed a whole gabunch of legislation honoring many of their promises.
Since they haven't overturned the Contstitution, passing legislation is all the power they have.
They then turned to the biggest issue responsible for their majorities -- Iraq. They are currently engaged in pressuring Bush to bring 'em home -- if he doesn't agree to doing so later, he'll have to do it sooner.
Since they've only been in power recently for a couple of months, we'd have to go back in time.
Clinton balanced the budge and reduced the deficit (which Bush has now sent spiralling hopelessly upward).
Family Leave Act springs to mind, so if you have to care for a family member, you still have a job to come back to.
The air was cleaner, as real environmental protection was in force.
Clinton appointed a lot of qualified people to every department. Under his administration FEMA worked, for example.
I'm getting sleepy, but you could look things up for yourself. If you go back further in time, you'd find things like the Voting Rights Act, further back, putting Americans back to work and developing a social safety net so millions don't starve.
Compared to what the federal government did before the 06 election, I'm just happy that they aren't continuing the previous policy of doing everything they can to destroy this country and the lives of the vast majority of its citizens.
As long as the traitorous murderer is in office, what Congress can do is limited. But they've done as much as they can, and more than most people expected.

Most importantly they put Nancy Pelosi in the big chair behind President Bush. During the State of the Union Address, those little hairs on the back of his neck stood straight up. That must have been why he was so twitchy that night. Come to think of it, he has been a little twitchy this week also.

The media lied all through the election and said the Democrats had no agenda and no plan.
WELL HERE IT IS:
http://www.democrats.org/agenda.html
It's a plan that is favored BY THE MAJORITY OF AMERICANS, but the OBSTRUCTIONIST REPUBLICANS IN THE SENATE are holding things up.
BUT THE DEMOCRATS IN THE HOUSE HAVE KEPT THEIR PROMISE. WITH NANCY PELOSI'S LEADERSHIP, THEY PASSED EVERY BILL THEY PROMISED, IN LESS THAN 100 HOURS.

And the republicans have:
A) Followed through on a war we should never have been in resulting in thousands of lost American lives.
B) Been sexual predators, talking to 16 year olds about committing lewd acts.
C) All of the Above
Even my 3 year old niece knows the answer to this one.

what haven't they followed through on?
they have followed through on voting for a raised minimum wage, help for college students, Iraq war limit (duh, this is going on now?), to make the medicaid perscription program more competitive...
that's all I remember they promised... they have done more, but I have forgot...
is there a Republican that pays any attention to what they are doing? or do you all just cry and not have a clue what you're crying about?

They followed through with their predictable lies in MN. Saying back before the dems won congress that they will not go on a tax hiking binge. Now it looks like with all the proposed(and some passed) tax hikes, Minnesotans will be spending an average of nearly $800-$2500 more per year on BS taxes!
WAY TO GO DEMS! I tried! I voted all Republican!
You said it vette1!!!!!!!!!!! You hit the nail on the head!

They may have raised the minimum wage, whoopie, but they will thrash the economy with all their tax increases, plus unemployment will go up.
