The Cold War was not really what we could consider a real war. It was more of a war of ideals and political structure. The West did win because the Soviet Union dissolved in 1991.

Hell yes the west won! The war was won officially on December 31 1991 when the USSR ceased to exist. Symbolically, it ended on December 25, 1991 when the hammer and sickle flag of the USSR was hauled down from the Kremlin and the Russian tricolor was raised in its place. The USSR ruined its economy trying to out arm the west. The trum was the Star Wars balistic missile system. It was a bluff and couldn't be built at the time. However the USSR didn't know this and knew they couldn't match it. They folded their hand.

Yes. The West won with a foreign policy called "international embargo". When the US reigned supreme, all nations would agree to embargo a targeted country-- destabilizing the economy of that country and causing it to spend too much on its military and eventually the countrymen would hate the leaders and the nation would fall or the economy would suffer harm. The policy was very effective against many countries that the US considered to be enemies. Look for the fall of the Soviet Union, economic strife in China and N. Korea, the Special Period in Cuba -- all targeted communist countries that the US wanted to use for their resources. Anyway, you should be getting dates and being more thorough that people who are answering off the tops of their heads...it's more proper to google for details and dates.

Totally!. The war ended on November 9th 1989. The day the Berlin Wall fell. After that, nothing could hold democracy back from the satillite states of the Soviet Union.
Demorcacy brought hope for a better life, religion and free markets to the east bloc.

Yes, I think so in a matter of speaking.
Communism is not a feasible method of governance, it is an ideology that cannot work since people in charge would always choose more for themselves. It is human nature. So the communists never had a chance at surviving as nations.
Russia is no longer communist, they are as capitalist as we are now, makes you wonder why the present administration is so determined to start up the cold war with them again.

Yes the west wore down the east. Essentially we bleed them to death financially. Your handlers at the jihad site of your choice think that we will rely on science and technology to win the war against global terrorism, and they also think that they will win with psychology and breaking the will of our government with continued conflict and discontent.
You may get yourself a democratic president in this next election, but you will never get our hearts and minds.

Although Cold War was technically not a "war" and there were no winners, I think the West won, morally, after all.

Yes, the West did. Russia is no longer a superpower or much of a threat (excluding selling Iran nuclear weapon composing material). USA Is the superpower which we show off and blatantly shove in all other countries' faces on the daily.
Take that communism - Shutup or we blacklist ya'!
