We are becoming more multicultural by the day, but that's not a good thing. We are being flooded by mexican, african, hmong, somalian, islamic cultures and so on. Like you said, we can never exist in harmony and it only dilutes and destroys the culture that was here to begin with! What I hate is how politically correct it is and how it's the in thing. Just because you speak out against multiculturalism, because it serves no good, you are labeled a bigot racist! Those are also the same people that even when presented evidence still disregard it.
Here's a good link on the bad side politicians and professors don't want to know about when it comes to multiculturalism!

They are ignorant. They have good intentions with little wisdom.
Most multi-cultural nations today are in civil war. Does the Movie Hotel Rwanda sound familiar? or what about the siltation in Darfur? or the mass Chinese genocide in Indonesia in the 1990's or the Sunni and sheites In Iraq? Quebec's attempt for independence from Canada or the la Raza group against virtually every nationality out side of Mexican living in the South West United States? Multi-cultural ism is a sham and not worth pursuing.

1) European culture is not a monolith.
2) There are people of Asian & African ancestry in our country.
3) We are multicultural, the problem is with those who define "multiculturism" as "All cultures are equally good except ours which is evil".
There are good things in many cultures (i'm a great believer in multicultural eating). There are also bad things in many cultures & some cultures that are truely evil. Ours is not on this short list.

Why don't you get away from the books for a while and take a trip down to a large metropolitan neighborhood and volunteer in a food shelf and you will meet persons from many "cultures". It is judgements such as these that continue to separate people. I'm not sure if you get it, but if you were born in America, you are therefore "American". Your family's ancestry may differ from your neighbor's, but if you and your neighbor were both born in the hospital in Chatanooga, Tennessee, then both of you share the same heritage -- American -- and thus, should have more similarities than differences. So get over it and understand that if Americans do not begin to stand as one nation, another country may attempt to exploit us, due to our focusing our attention on petty inner conflicts rather than standing guard for the best of all.

I really cannot see what culture has to do with politics, liberals and conservatives. However, based on your own analysis, one can clearly see why the imported multiculturalism of the past could neither evolve nor survive in an environment of descendants with thoughts like yours!

is this really worth writing a question about?
does anyone really care if we call it multicultural or multinational?
do conservatives ever stop playing semantics games?
and is one example of two cultures not mixing well, mean it's impossible for all others to mix?
why do you hate everyone but "Americans" and why do you seem to feel the need that you have to be dominant over others? this seems to be where you're going here?
if it's not... please tell me the relevance to anything?

It's simply untrue that multi-cultural societies can't exist.
They have.
This is one of them.
Back when this country began, French, Germans, English, and others all brought their cultures with them.
It was never a single-culture society.
It certainly isn't now.
Get over it.

I think you're misinterpreting the liberals. I don't think they claim that America has always been a multicultural nation, I think they claim that it "should be" a multicultural nation.
Of course, my experience is that liberals can't tell the difference between what they think "should be" and what actually "is", so maybe you have a point.

The US is multicultural--as anybody who has ever really traveled in America and talked to different people from different backgrounds and subcultures knows. And, although some bigots insist on insisting diverse people cannot live together--all they are really saying is that they arre too narrow-minded to tolerate diversity.

u.s. Failed interior the 1930's with the great melancholy however the version replaced into the government replaced into no longer bankrupt and we had a gold back dollar. u.s. is failing stunning now and that i think of democrats are in for a impolite awakening. i do no longer think of they understand that it wasn't Bush a lone that have been given u.s. into this place nor replaced into that's republicans. that's profession politicians who've substitute into extremely corrupt. that's politicians working on grants that are unrealistic. They make grants that only can't be stored. It comes right down to this Republican provides tax cuts Democrat provides tax cuts and loose scientific wellbeing coverage. whilst somebody needs to attempt to quite restoration the subject concerns no one needs to vote for them because of fact that's ability each and each American will might desire to make sacrifices.
