Of course not. Those who read and study the Bible and the Ten Commandments know that God forgives people for their sins when they ask to be forgiven. He doesn't hold grudges like man, nor does He throw things back in your face. Once He has forgiven you -- as often as you ask Him sincerely to do and commit yourself to stopping whatever Commandments are being broken -- you are renewed in your relationship with Him and don't have to worry about going to hell.

They say that if you believe in Christ and ask for forgiveness, you'll be forgiven. They add that Jesus came to the world to save humans who err in observing the strict laws. Hence, he came to offer salvation because the laws were too rigid. Whoever believes in him and asks for forgiveness will enjoy eternal life. Note that he did not come to end the laws but to offer an alternative to salvation and gaining eternal life. For instance, the laws stated that one offense could affect salvation for all descendants of the offender even innocent ones. So Jesus came to lighten the yoke for such innocent descendants.

Any obsession distracts. That being said, I am confident in the afterlife and have nothing to worry about. Jesus knows that I fall short of God's glory. Seeking forgiveness and knowing that God is all forgiving helps to guide me.

well the beauty of christ is we are forgiven for our sins if we ask for it. dwelling on it won't change the fact that it happened. you need to confess your sins and ask for forgiveness.
