She couldn't possibly know whether or not she is a lesbian. she is nine. and hasn't had enough life experience to have come to the conclusion that she is a lesbian. There might be more to the story than your friend is telling even you. She may have been molested and therefore believes that she is a lesbian. She needs to tell her parents the 'WHOLE" truth so that they can get her to a counselor to help her.

I think she should live a little more then decide if she is lesbian or not. I hope she is not having intercourse at 9 yrs old. She need some therapy to help her sort out her emotions. If she is just finding women attractive that is natural. I see women that I think is attractive but I don't want to sleep with them or be their life partner. She is just young and going through some changes.

I'd support her as much as possible in whatever path she will take in the future. There is clear research about how the brain is imprinted as male or female and how genetics and hormones during pregnancy affects this. Homosexuality is not a choice and is not related to upbringing.

From personal experience with youngsters, nine years of age is too early to reliably determine her sexual preference, but I'd support her as a friend regardless of which path she takes.

It's been a long time, but is it really possible at 9 years old to tell if you're a lesbian? I would advise her to at least wait until puberty to be sure before raising anyone's awareness.... But I fall well on the hetero side, so what do I know....

it doesnt matter what anyone else thinks or believes. everyone will always have a problem with someone for the smallest of things...like being gay, lesbian, bisexual, black, hispanic, having some disibility. so **** them and just be your self...your true friends will have your back 100% your family may have difficulty but eventually will come around for the simple reason that they love you so who cares be yourself if youre happy thats all that matters.

About her being nine, shes exploring she may be or she may not be a lesbian so let her be and be the best friend you can possibly be to her...

Not good. She is too young to admit that she may be lesbian. Lesbian and gay stuff are sexually attention so she is sooo young to understand what is like. Tell her you need wait until 18 yrs old to let parents know.

Ok,
I might be a guy
But I have to deal with this too Considering that
I'm Bi.

Ok tell her that You think she should think about it some more.

Just make she is sure.

Also, Its not mandatory that she needs to tell her parents at that young of an age.
They might think she need counseling.

Hope I helped.

that is so sad that ur friend cant turn to anyone. i think that u should tell her to maybe come out at an older age. since she is only nine, tell her to maybe discuss these feelings with her parents. allthough it maybe hard, it is nessesary. advice her that she should maybe wait a while to announce it to her peers. kids can be so mean and she may be accepted better at an older age. good luck hun!

Keep it to yourself until you're ready to come out the closet; or just wait until others discover. I saw a documentary once on children aged 8-11 who knew they were gay.
