I was awaiting a very important package.. it first stated the estimate delivery date of April 3rd but it did not arrive.. I checked status a while ago and it now reads "Picked up".

It means just that, it has been picked up. Next it will show scanned into distribution center. Then in transit to local terminal. Then then sorted, and loaded onto truck for customer delivery. The shipper must have called for package pickup after the monday cutoff time.

Depends what day it was shipped on. if it was shipped yesterday or the day before you have a problem. " Package data transmitted to fed ex" mean that the computer that it was sent from sent the billing information to FedEx. It doesn't mean that the package is at FedEx. Until it shows as scan at a FedEx facility your package it has not been picked up or lost by FedEx. If this is a next day package then you will get it tomorrow.

The status "picked up" means that FedEx acknowledges that they have it. A package remains in that status until someone changes it. While they are generally pretty good about updating that, it's possible it could remain in that status for a day or two after it is actually delivered.

i think that the picked up means that it is in process. the sender of the package has given the package to fedex . the fedex package will make its way to one of their package distribution centers and then it will get put on a truck and scheduled for delivery to you by the time that the sender requested. fedex first has early by 8 am delivery. there are mid morning delivery and afternoon delivery by 2 pm. you can always call 1 800 GO FEDEX to get more details on your package. good luck !

I agree with Open there are times that FedEx doesnt get around to changing the status until it has been in your hands for a day. However FedEx and UPS are very good at up dating their status daily. USPS on the other hand...isnt

It means the Fed Ex carrier has the parcel and It should be delivered to you the following day. If it hasn't-call Fed Ex, you can get the toll free number through 411. They should be able to locate the package for you.
