Watching the Bulls beatdown on a disinterested looking Pistons tonight, it occurs to me.
Tyrus is a young Shawn Kemp. Highlight reel dunks, rebounds, blocked shots...
Look at the stats for the rookie year too:

I agree. However it is not Reign Man. Didn't you see him play for Portland. It's Shawn the Snowman Kemp

Tyrus Thomas definitely has some highlight reel dunks, but Shawn Kemp in his prime was a freak of nature, unorthodox and more athletic. Tyrus Thomas gets a lot of alley oops and put back dunks, but Kemp put it on the floor more than Tyrus, and his dunks were more spectacular. Remember the 'Lister Blister' when he brought the ball from his hip and dunked on Alton Lister, Lister went down, and Kemp pointed at him?? Definitely more flair.
True, Kemp didn't play too much defense, only when he wanted to. Thomas is much better defensively.
