Personally, I find the movie "Plague Dogs" to be the most depressing movie I've seen. It's an animated film that follows the story of two dogs who have escaped from an animal research laboratory- the anthropomorphism is realistic without being overly cartoony/condescending, and it paints an interesting and thought-provoking picture without becoming sappy, overly politicized, or patronizing towards the audience. I'd fully recommend it.

Eight Seconds. When Lane Frost is trampled by that bull and manages to stand and reach out a hand for help before colllapsing and dying always gets me. It's probably because it's based on facts, but it still gets me. Also A League of Their Own, when Betty gets the telegraph that her husband was killed in the war. Both my husband and I get choked up at that point.

Someone mentioned Schindler's List and I have to agree. My dad and I both cried during that one.

Also, Beyond Borders. The movie itself wasn't so great but it really made me stop and think about how easy we have it here and how many people in the world are suffering. It made me feel a bit guilty about all the petty complaints I have on a daily basis while other people are dying or watching their children starve to death.

It's a tie, Blood Diamond and Schindler's List. After seeing them, I cried for a good hour. As a matter of fact, I think Schindler's List had me bawlin a little more. Liam Neeson's part was so sad at the end.

"An Affair To Remember" starring Cary Grant and Deborah Kerr. Totally unexpected, but I cried at the end. Quite cheesy, but still a gem of a movie. If you see it, you will recognize that it has become staple for other movies in subsequent years.

Believe it or not Carrie (1976). It is so sad after the part where the house start burning down. You cry because you feel all the crap Carrie been through. it would also be the Notebook when Allie and Noah dies at the end.
