Depends on the religion, I don't get bothered by most of them out there. Most religions seem to think God is a judge of some sort, yet the alot of the people seem to want to take on God's role and judge others. Anyone see the Louis Theroux show, with the US family who stand at funerals of soldiers with banners such as 'All Troops are Fags' as if gay innuendo was the worst thing they could find to say?
You may have had better luck if this qustion had been better put elsewhere in Answers? This is a sexuality section, after all.
Good luck! Rob

Because it says somewhere in the Bible that "the fool hath said in his heart there is no God". This seems to lead many people to believe that everyone believes in God, just some are denying it and need to be enlightened.
Also, there have been enough cases of atheists being converted that people will keep on trying, no matter how annoying it is or how stupid they look trying to convert someone by changing their screenname to "SAVED!" and posting irrelevant messages about how marvellous Jesus is on questions about homosexuality on Yahoo!Answers. But, hey, what to do?

I'm an athiest but my ex was a Roman Catholic and actively followed the religion. He believed that even though he was gay god made him that way. He also believed that if god apparently "loves" his children then it should not matter either way.
To me this sounded a perfectly normal way of thinking.
My view is that the bible is written with the values of the time they were written in. Times and values change, the bible is written by man not god itself and as we know history is always written to make things look better or biased towards certain ideas or ways of thinking.

because the angel Gabriel instructed me that Jimmy Carter turns into the Antichrist aka Dajjal (eighth King in Rev. 17) and he will serve yet yet again period in workplace after the shortcoming of life of Obama (seventh king). The angel Gabriel instructed me in Aug. 1973 at the same time as i became in Phillipsbrug, Montana that Jimmy Carter turns into the Anti-Christ, and that he is going to regulate his call, and divorce his spouse! Obama is going to die first and then the Anti-Christ aka Dajjal who became between the previous 7 Presidents will take his position! Rev. 17:10 And there are seven kings: 5 are fallen, and one is, [and] the different isn't yet come; and at the same time as he cometh, he ought to proceed a short area. All 7 kings were all alive until eventually the shortcoming of life of Ronald Reagan June 5, 2004 at the same time as George W. Bush became in workplace ; a million. Gerald Ford 2. Jimmy Carter 3. Ronald Reagan 4. George H. W. Bush 5. invoice Clinton 6. George W. Bush.... is spoken of in the present annoying (and one is) because until eventually Reagan died (June 5, 2004) all 7 were alive! 7. Barack Obama.......and one is yet to come back! he will die some days after he will improve taxes! Obama is likewise in Dan. 11:20 Then shall arise in his sources a raiser of taxes [in] the dignity of the dominion: yet interior few days he will be destroyed, neither in anger, nor in conflict. Rev. 17:11 And the beast that became, and is not any longer, even he's the eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth into perdition.

They also should practise what they preach. 'u should do this, u should do that,' its just so that the spot light is taken a way from them 4 not doing it and past on to others who don't want to fallow what some bloke said u should do. Like don't eat this 4 40 days because I said so, I cold understand if it was a health matter but its what a bloke did so u've got to do it.

Those who try to convert others, regardless of their religion, are usually genuinly concerned for the "soul" of that person. We all know you cant actually make the person believe something, but we can try to persuade.

because they believe their right.. and the fact is in that sense they are wrong, because there are no rights and wrongs when it comes to belief.
the people that are stupid enough to constantly try and force their beliefs on others are also too stupid to quit at it.
the majority of the christian people for example, won't constantly pester you and toss references to the bible at you for the sake of it ( then ignore the hundreds of quots you canmake back), because they are true christians, and they knw that they shouldn't judge others, or try to force feed beliefs down others throats.
i respect anyone who can hold their religious beleifs high to themselves, without inflicting or trampling upon the beliefs of others, as that is how we all should be.
