$100 dollars is a lot of money to steal. Not just from a 15 year old, but from anyone. Grounding you isn't much of a punishment for stealing. That's more appropriate if you were late for your curfew. Washing your mouth out with soap is appropriate if you cursed. Stealing $100 from your brother - I'd say you should have to do $100 worth of his chores until you've paid it off - so you realize how much $100 is worth. It doesn't matter if your brother got that $100 from an after-school job, or as a birthday gift, you need to learn how valuable $100 is. For example: If he cashed his paycheck from his part time job at Burger King, working at minimum wage - thats about 15 hours of making burgers!!!!

No Grounding, No Soap in the mouth - you should have to work off the $100 by doing his chores. Even though you had the money taken away from you. You have to learn the monetary value of money and how hard it is to earn $100.

You invaded his privacy as well as stole from him.
When my kids do this, they have to apologize to their sibling and then they lose tv, computer, phone, etc. for at least 2 weeks. You should also apologize to your mom. Chores are next. They take on additional chores, like help with yardwork or shovel snow - weather permitting, of course.
Washing your mouth out will do no good. That is not healthy and if your mom raises her voice to you, then she would be subject to the waching too.
You stated that you stole a $100 bill from his room. Where would a 15 year old get that kind of money? If he has a job, he should be putting it in the bank. If not, then your mom has a job to do and that would be to see why he has that kind of cash in his room. (That's what parents jobs are, keep their children from making stupid mistakes and lovin them unconditionallly).
If you can't settle on extra chores, then how about volunteering for something at a school or retirement home for seniors. Maybe a church youth group?
Make something positive out of this and help others. Learn from your mistake, you should respect other's privacy.
And tell your mom, good luck. You may not understand the need for discipline now, but later in life, you will thank her!!

I think you should be forced to go talk to the people at the Department of Family Services.

Perhaps they can get to the bottom of why a fifteen year old has a hundred dollar bill in the first place, and talk to your mother about using ideas from the internet for punishments.

As for you, you need to wise up and realize that your mother is making the best of what's obviously a bad situation, and stop making it harder on her and everyone else.

60 strokes is by far no longer honest! in case you reported 10 or 15 lashes i could agree. yet 60 strokes is slightly harsh. i actually am FOR corporal punishment whilst it is composed of recent child molesters like jerry sandusky, in my view he could get a public flogging at around one hundred lashes with a flogger. in case you harm or injury a newborn or you abuse or rape a woman, you'll be sentenced to that variety of punishment. NO. i don't have faith which you will decrease someones palms off for stealing a loaf of bread. yet once you bypass right into a financial employer with a gun? and additionally you carry them hostage, or shoot certainly one of them and consistent with possibility kill or wound them. then they could take the two palms in some foregin international locations the place you have corporal punishment there is little or no crime. and the streets are sparkling and good. i could decide to work out some people who spit interior the line or muddle to get 10 whacks with a cane on stay television.

You should apologize to your mom first for talking to her in a bad tone and then if she thinks you should get your mouth washed out w/ soap....so should your brother!!!! And then apologize to him for going through his room and don't do that anymore.....you wouldn't like it if he went through your stuff. So yes, do all of that and then be grounded for one day!

No computer, no tv, no video games, etc, locked in your room reading the Bible for one month. You're a freakin' low-life and you wouldn't be typing with your broken fingers if you were my kid. You'd be crawling back to your room.
