I call death my last great adventure. So curious so don't mind. Just don't want it to hurt. Here is a good thing that I read written by the Chaplain from the VA Hospital in Fresno.
A Paradox
Be not concerned about
how long you live
but how well you live.
There is neither a good time
nor a bad time to die;
there is only your time.
Of life, of death,
there is no control;
there is neither yesterday
nor tomorrow.
There is only NOW,
NOW is all there is
and if you live well
NOW is enough.
The one most ready to die
is the one most
willing to live.
"There is a right time for everything, and a right time for every event under heaven. A time to be born and a time to die...a time to weep and a time to laugh...there is nothing better than to be happy and enjoy life as long as we live." Ecclesiastes 3

I think that some people fear death because they are afraid of what lies beyond the grave. Heaven? Hell? Some people don't fear death because they are sure they have the answer either they don't believe in God or Satan therefore they have no fear of death because their mind is made up that to die is just nothingness.Others are just as sure that Heaven awaits them so they do not fear death as well..........there a better live waiting!

If you find you are right now feeling overwhelmed about death, its not a fear of death you have but a fear of living.
People who actually do have a real fear of death are really feeling that they have not lived up to their potential, or have not finished (or started) something they wanted to accomplish.
As a Christian, I'm comforted always that I will go to Heaven and therefore not a lot scares me.
Our bodies naturally try to survive. In that way, we may fear death, as in seeing a snake, etc.

I think people fear death because they really don't know what the afterlife has in store or the fact that an afterlife exists. Some people believe that they will go to heaven or hell, some believe nothing happens. I'm not afraid of dying because i know one day that i will die, but i'm afraid of not living a full and meaningful life

Those who are more intelligent fear death. And those who are even more intelligent then them understand eternal existence. When we come to full consciousness and our constitutional position as eternal spirit soul we no longer fear death because we understand we are not this body and we understand our eternal relationship with God also known as Krishna, Allah, Jehovah, Vishnu, etc. Otherwise death can come at any minute and if one is not prepared they are sure to take another material birth. The most intelligent and self realized souls prepare so at the moment of death they will think of one of the Names of God and return to the eternal Blissful abode. For more info. go to harkrishnatemple.c Read Bhagavad Gita as it is By Bhaktivedanta Prabhupada-tells how to become free from fear of death.

I personal do not fear death at all. I fear the possible suffering just before death such as when you have a heart attack. For a few seconds anyway you might experience great pain.

Death is nothing to fear because it's really only a new beginning - in a much better place.

I think we fear death as a survival mechanism to keep us alive.I think the older and more mature you get the less you actually "fear" death and avoid it as a better judgement but that is my opinion not based on scientific fact.

Everyone doesn't fear death.... some look forward to it someday.... I'm not afraid of dying because I know who my maker is and I know I'm going home to be with him when I die... the sooner the better. God loves all of us, unconditionally... its so easy to believe, but, yet, so many don't believe.....anyways... not everyone fears death...
