Since Sunday I've had, gastroenteritis (a.k.a stomach flu--it's when your stomach and intestinces are infected and swollen) and I'm not throwing up anymore, or feverish and i'm starting to eat more... But my stomach still is bothering me alot.

I haven't been to a doctor yet, I figured its past its bad stages. How long does it take for the pain and swelling to go down complately? Until then what can help with the pain?

Try re-introducing food into your stomach a little at a time, especially if you haven't been eating much lately. Try things that are light to start out with - soups, crackers, jello, etc. and see if that helps. For the time being, stay away from spicy, greasy, and fried foods, as well as foods that are high in sodium. Also, make sure that you are not getting dehydrated. Other than that, time will probably be your best healer. Hope you feel better soon.

Try taking some pepto bismol for the pain. Also, drink gingerale and eat a bland diet. If your not better by the end of the week you should see a doctor. Most stomache bugs last about a week or less. Good luck.
